You're the DJ: what are the next five songs coming up after the break?
This morning's goal is to WAKE UP, SHELLEY! (Shouted ala the Wiggles.) It's a deliciously chilly autumn morning at 55 degrees, so all I wanted to do was stay curled up in blankets. But then Dad brought home a pumpkin spice latte for me and blankets were a thing of the past. But I still need to wake up more. So:
1. Voodoo Child - Rogue Traders
2. I Can't Decide - Scissor Sisters
3. Boogie Shoes - BeeGees
4. I Don't Feel Like Dancing - Scissor Sisters
5. 100 Ways - JC Chasez
High energy, strong beats, impossible not to at least bop your head along, if not sing along!
What shows are you looking forward to in the new fall TV season?
I'm really looking forward to the new season of Bones. Other than that, I have a few shows I will continue to tune into, but not with the same amount of excitement. Actually, I should figure out my viewing schedule. Let's see!
Sunday:
Viva Laughlin - 7pm, October 18. Drama, musical, Lloyd Owen, what's not to love???
Cold Case - 8pm, September 23. It's on after Viva Laughlin, and I always love it, so I'll probably just keep it on after.
Doctor Who - 10pm, continuing. Yeah, I've seen the Ninth Doctor's episodes several times now. Does that stop me from watching them here? It does not.
Monday-Friday:
Coupling - 9pm, continuing. I quite love this show. Patrick and Sally are the best.
Monday:
Dancing with the Stars - 7pm, Sept. 24. Joey got me hooked, what can I say?
(Last season's finale of How I Met Your Mother seemed like such a perfect concluding place, I don't think I'll watch the show anymore. I was pretty eh on it last year.)
Tuesday:
Bones - 7pm, Sept 25. SO glad I don't have to wait until November for this. Man, I love this show.
Dancing with the Stars - 8pm, Sept 25. Results.
Wednesday:
Nothing
Thursday:
Ugly Betty - 7pm, Sept 27. Not a must see show, but I love it every time I see it.
(Geez, CSI is still on??)
Friday:
Doctor Who - 7pm, continuing. I think there's only 4 episodes left (Blink + Jack's trilogy), but they might rerun them after.
Numb3rs - 9pm, Sept 28. I had forgotten about this show this summer, but I do want to see what happened to Colby.
Stargate Atlantis - 9pm, Sept 28. Thank heavens for dual tuner TiVos. I'm pretty unenthusiastic for this season (Sam Carter, I'm looking at you), but it is still David Hewlett. So.
Saturday:
Doctor Who - 7pm, continuing. Yes, I've already seen series 2 multiple times. Your point?
Torchwood - 8pm, continuing. YAY Torchwood!! This will run through early December, then I go on vacation for three weeks and then I will be only weeks from the series two premiere in the UK. Very exciting.
I think Viva Laughlin is the only new show I have here. Then there's the four runs of Who and Torchwood that I've already seen and am just rewatching. A fairly light schedule, but we'll see what catches my eye as the season continues.
Where do you get recommendations for new books to read?
Usually, from browsing. I find a lot of bibliographies at work, and grab what looks interesting. I also use the monthly book reviews from School Library Journal.
Now, however, I've joined Good Reads, along with most of my co-workers. We rate and review everything that we read, and it's been absolutely fabulous on getting ideas. You organize your books onto shelves, and so it's easy to find recommendations/reviews in various genres. I don't think I've ever read as much as I have this summer, thanks to GR!
Did you see the Harry Potter movie this weekend? Are you going to read the new book?
What silly questions! I saw HP twice last week - Wednesday morning, alone, and Thursday evening with a friend from work. I absolutely loved it. Liss and I are going to see it on IMAX this summer, too, and I can't wait.
And naturally I will be reading the last book!!! Liss and I will hit Oak Park's huge party - the downtown turns into Diagon Alley when the books are released - then I'll work a few hours at the library because we're staying open until midnight and doing huge and awesome things all evening. Then Liss and I will hang out for awhile and get in line for the books at midnight. I'll drive her home and then read read read until dawn. *g* I can't wait!!!
After all the recent season and series finales, what are you watching on TV these days?
This is an appropriate question, seeing as how I am frantically refreshing websites, waiting for the newest episode of Doctor Who to be available. LOL
I am also watching Monarch of the Glen, season 6. (Starring Lloyd Owen, who will star in Viva Laughlin on CBS this fall. Yay! It is also a remake of Blackpool, which starred David Tennant, who is that lovely adorable Tenth Doctor pictured above.) Oh, and the Stargates still have one more week of episodes.
Are you taking a vacation this summer (or this season)? Where are you headed and who's going with you?
VACATION!!!! Boy, do I ever need one.
Next week,I shall be heading to my beloved Media*West con in Lansing, Michigan with Jennie and Biz, YAY!!!!! 6 awesome, fun-filled days that I cannot wait for.
In late June, Karey and I are going to the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT for a long weekend. I've never been to the northeast, so I'm greatly looking forward to it.
And those two events must hold me through until next spring, woe.
In your ultimate dream house, what does your favorite room look like?
This is Ellen's bedroom on Slings and Arrows and I utterly adore it. I covet it. The wall color, the bed, the lamps, I love every bit of it. (I also love Geoffrey Tennant, but I'd probably have a harder time finding him in a store.)
What, to you, is the first sign of spring? Have you seen it yet?
Submitted by Spy.
I aim to see my first robin of the season to determine spring. So far, I've only heard a cardinal, though. But mom pointed out something in our garden today that will definitely count:
Who was your first celebrity crush?

What's the next country you want to visit?

I missed this one the first time around, but oh, I want to go the UK! England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, I've always wanted to visit there. (Well, okay, Wales is a new addition to the list. LOL) But I think they're gorgeous countries, so full of history and I would dearly love such a trip. I'm kind of considering it as a graduation present to myself in a few years. We'll see.
